AI hardware decommissioning for GPU servers.

Coretek 360 decommissions GPU servers and AI clusters, wipes storage to NIST 800-88, and documents every serial number.

AI hardware decommissioning services for GPU infrastructure.

GPU servers, clusters, and the hardware around them are retired, their storage is sanitized, and the value the hardware still holds is recovered. This is not the full list, so ask about anything you do not see.

  1. GPU Server Decommissioning

GPU servers are powered down, cabling and networking are removed, and racks are torn down in the sequence agreed in the plan, the same rack level decommissioning we run in data centers.

    • Powered down in the agreed sequence
    • Networking and cabling removed
    • Rack level teardown
    • Palletized removal
  2. AI Cluster Inventory & Valuation

We inventory the retired AI infrastructure with you, GPU servers, networking, and storage, by serial number, and note which components are likely to hold resale value.

    • Full cluster inventory by serial number
    • Resale value assessed per component
    • Teardown plan agreed before work starts
  3. Training Data Destruction

Storage that held training data, model weights, or customer data is wiped to NIST 800-88 and verified, or shredded on site or at our facility. A certificate of data destruction is issued per serial number.

    • Wiped to NIST 800-88 and verified
    • Hard drive shredding
    • On site or at our facility
    • Certificate of data destruction per serial number

Hard drive shredding is performed in house by Coretek 360 and is not yet covered by our R2v3 certificate, which covers data sanitization, test and repair, and the downstream recycling chain. We are actively working to add it.

  4. GPU & Component Recovery

GPUs, memory, network cards, and other components are removed and tested individually, since accelerators often hold more value than the chassis they came from.

    • GPUs removed and tested
    • Memory, network cards, and other parts recovered
    • Value assessed part by part

Component harvesting is performed in house by Coretek 360 and is not yet covered by our R2v3 certificate, which covers data sanitization, test and repair, and the downstream recycling chain. We are actively working to add it.

  5. GPU Server Remarketing

Working servers and components are tested, graded, and resold as whole systems or parts through our sales channels, with the value returned itemized by serial number.

    • Tested and graded
    • Resold as servers or parts
    • Value returned itemized by serial number
  6. AI Hardware Recycling

Hardware that cannot be reused goes to R2v3 certified downstream processors, with data destroyed before any recycling begins.

    • R2v3 certified downstream processors
    • Data destroyed before recycling
    • Documented through final disposition
  7. Disposition Reporting

A final serialized report accounts for every asset in the cluster, with a certificate of data destruction for each drive, ready for your auditors.

    • Every serial number accounted for
    • Certificates of data destruction
    • A report you keep for your auditors

Frequently asked questions.

What teams ask before retiring GPU servers and AI clusters.

What AI hardware do you decommission?

We decommission GPU servers, AI training and inference clusters, and the networking and storage that sit alongside them. Each node, accelerator, and drive is logged by serial number at intake, and the final disposition report lists all of them, so your asset register and our records match line by line.

How is data on AI hardware sanitized?

Drives that held training data, model weights, or customer data are wiped to NIST 800-88 and verified, or shredded when the media cannot be wiped. Each drive receives a certificate of data destruction tied to its serial number, and the certificates are bundled with the final report for your compliance file.

Can retired GPU servers be resold?

Yes. Servers and accelerators with working life left are tested, graded, and resold through our sales channels, with the value returned to you itemized by serial number. Hardware that fails testing is dismantled in house and sent to R2v3 certified downstream processors, so nothing leaves the chain of custody undocumented.

Can you decommission a full AI cluster?

Yes. We handle rack level teardown, cabling removal, and palletized removal for whole clusters, following the same process as our data center decommissioning. The sequence is agreed in writing before anyone touches a rack, and custody is documented from your floor to ours.

Is every component documented?

Yes. Every server, GPU, memory module, network card, and drive is logged by serial number at intake and tracked through testing, resale, or recycling. The final disposition report accounts for each one, and certificates of data destruction cover every drive, which is what auditors ask to see.

Can you stage the hardware that replaces it?

Yes. Deployment support covers staging, imaging, and rollout of the replacement hardware, scheduled alongside the teardown so the swap happens in one window. Retired nodes leave in tracked vehicles under documented chain of custody while the new equipment goes in, and both sides are recorded by serial number.

Can drives be destroyed at our facility?

Yes. With on site data destruction, drives are shredded at your location before anything leaves the building. Serial numbers are logged before destruction and a certificate of data destruction is issued for each drive, the same documentation you receive when media is processed at our facility.

Do we get a record for our auditors?

Yes. You receive a final disposition report listing every serial number we handled, its sanitization method, and its final outcome, whether resold, harvested, or recycled. Recycling runs through R2v3 certified downstream processors. Certificates of data destruction are attached per drive. The report is written to support reviews under HIPAA, GLBA, PCI DSS, and similar rules.
